my recent stay in Durban was truly delightful, thanks to the charming Makaranga Lodge. The spacious rooms, incredible service, and beautiful gardens exceeded all my expectations. The attention to detail, such as the chocolates on the pillows, made my stay extra special.

the Front Office Manager, Pierre, is an effective customer-centric problem solver. He is an excellent Front Office Manager. He is a great asset and because of his treatment of me and my daughter I will take the initiative to recommend friends and family to Makaranga Lodge. Well done, Pierre.

The staff were very kind and helpfull. They made our stay special and they are the reason,as well as the gardens, that we will go back.
Our room smelled musty and as if previous people smoked in the room.We could hear people in rooms next to ours. They had party tent in front of our room.

Location
Service was poor. Phones didn't work. When they eventually worked, there was no one to pick up on the other end. Room service took forever. Service is similar to that of sa government!

I was amazed by the spaciousness of the room and the stunning views from the patio. The gardens were absolutely stunning, and taking a walk through them was a delightful experience. The service and food at the restaurant were top-notch, and the staff, especially our waiter, were friendly and attentive. I had a good stay and would definitely consider visiting again.

Beautiful, tranquil, relaxing surroundings. Food at the restaurant was fantastic.
For the price and the four-star rating, would have appreciated shampoo, conditioner, etc, in the bathroom, for guest use. I also did not find a hair-dryer in the room.

The rooms at Makaranga Lodge are absolutely stunning! Each room has a balcony with views of the beautiful gardens, making me feel like I was in my own private oasis. The flat-screen TV and en suite bathroom with a bath or shower were great too - perfect for a cozy night in after a long day at the beach.
I personally found the separate bathtubs and showers in the bathrooms to be a bit inconvenient. But hey, that's just my preference, and I'm sure others would still appreciate the variety.
